A woman goes to a Doctor, worried about her husband’s temper.

Doctor: “What’s the problem?
Woman: “Doctor, I don’t know what to do every day my husband seems to lose his temper for no reason.  It scares me”

Doctor: “I have a cure for that. When it seems that your husband is getting angry, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth.  Just swish and swish but don’t swallow it until he either leaves the room or calms down.”

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

Woman “Doctor that was a brilliant idea!  Every time my husband started losing it, I swished with water.  I swished and swished, and he calmed right down!  How does a glass of water do that?!

The Doctor says: “The water itself does nothing it’s keeping your mouth shut that does the trick”.

Lessons to learn.....

A friend of mine turned 51.
I asked him what's changing?

He sent me following lines."
Yes, I am changing.

After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children, my friends, now I have started loving myself.

I just realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.

I now stopped bargaining with vegetables & fruits vendors. After all, a few rupees more is not going to burn a hole in my pocket but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.

I pay the taxi driver without waiting for the change. The extra money might bring a smile on his face. After all he is toiling much harder for a living than me.

I stopped telling the elderly that they've already narrated that story many times. After all, the story makes them walk down the memory lane & relive the past.

I've learnt not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. After all, the load of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peace is more precious than perfection.

I give compliments freely & generously. After all it's a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me.

I've learnt not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. After all, personality speaks louder than appearances.

I walk away from people who don't value me. After all, they might not know my worth, but I do.

I remain cool when someone plays dirty politics to outrun me in the rat race. After all, I am not a rat & neither am I in any race.

I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. After all, it's my emotions that make me human.

I have learnt that its better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. After all, my ego will keep me alone whereas with relationships I will never be alone.

I've learnt to live each day as if it's the last. After all, it might be the last.

I am doing what makes me happy. After all, I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to me.

Short story with deep meaning

"Everyone goes with the flow… but the one who goes against it becomes someone remarkable.”

Before I could explain this to the traffic police, the man issued me a fine.

What taste do you leave in others' mouths

There was an old man who was admitted in a hospital.
A young man would visit him every day, and sit with him for more than one hour. He would help him eat his food, and take his shower. He would then take him walking in the garden of the hospital. After that he would bring him back to his room and help him to lie down. He would go away after reassuring himself that the old man was doing well.

One day the nurse entered his room, to give him medicine and inspect his condition, and said to him: "May the Lord be always gracious to your kind and caring son. Every day he visits you and shows great care."

The old man looked at her and closed his eyes and said to her:
"I wish he was one of my children. He is an orphan from the neighborhood where we live. I met him one day in the past, crying at the door of a Mosque, after his father died. I comforted him and bought for him some candy to put a smile on his face. I neither saw him nor talked to him after that for a very long time.

When he grew up he came to discover where my wife and I were living. He would visit us every day to inspect our conditions. When I later fell sick, he took my old wife to his home. He now comes to the hospital to see my treatment everyday. One day I asked him: "My son why do you have to deal with us and care about us so much?"

He simply smiled and said: "The taste of the candy is still in my mouth."

To become successful, we may need family and friends.

But to become very successful, we need some enemies and competitors.

The Old Rich Man, the Young Man and the Apples…..

A young man asked an old rich man how he made his money.

The old guy fingered his expensive wool vest and said, "Well, son, it was 1932. The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel."

"I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents."

"The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them at 5:00 pm for 20 cents. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I'd accumulated a fortune of $9.80."

"After that," the old rich man continued, "I invested the $9.80 into a market stall so I could polish and display a lot more apples. I began making about $50 a month from then on."

"Then my wife's father died and left us Two million dollars."

A husband visited a marriage counsellor and said: "When we were first married, I would come home from the office, my wife would bring my slippers and our cute little dog would run around barking.

Now after ten years it's different. I come home, the dog brings the slippers and my wife runs around barking."

Said the counsellor: "Why complain. You are still getting the same service.

70%........

When we die, our money remains in the bank. Yet, when we are alive, we don’t have enough money to spend.  In reality, when we are gone, there is still a lot of money not spent.

One business tycoon in china passed away.  His widow, was left with 1.9 billion in the bank, and she married his chauffeur.  His chauffeur said, “All the while, I thought I was working for my boss…. It is only now, that I realize that my boss was all the time, working for me”.

The cruel reality is: “It is more important to live longer than to have more wealth”.  So, we must strive to have a strong and healthy body.  It really doesn’t matter who is working for who.

In a high end hand phone, 70% of the functions are useless.
For an expensive car, 70% of the speed and gadgets are not needed.
If you own a luxurious villa or mansion, 70% of the space is usually not used or occupied.
How about your wardrobes of clothes?  70% of them are not worn!
A whole life of work and earning 70% of which is for other people to spend.
So, we must protect and make full use of our 30%.

Go for medical check-ups even if not sick.
Drink more water, even if not thirsty.
Learn to let go, even if faced with grave problems.
Remain humble, even if you are very rich and powerful.
Learn to be contented, even if you are not rich.
Exercise you mind and body, even if you are very busy.

Make time for people you care about.
